Virginia Yoga Week Descends Upon Us Again

Virginia Yoga week is back for their fourth run from June 12 – 19th with community events, class discounts, and ample opportunity to support several good causes such as The Exalted Warrior Foundation, Carpenter’s Shelter, People for Haiti, Give Back Yoga, Reston Inter Faith and the Loudoun County Animal Shelter. There will be more than 80 free or $5 classes that cater to people of all fitness levels from Arlington to Occoquan with the goal to promote the benefits of yoga for mind, body and spirit for all.

Opening Event: Love Your Body takes place on June 12th from 9am-4pm at Reston Town Center with proceeds benefitting Reston Interfaith. An impressive line up includes Rocket, Synergy, Ashtanga, and Bikram Yoga; Yoga for the Lower Back; Intro to Kundalini; Yoga Dance; and a closing concert.

Yoga on the Potomac: June 17, 6:30pm-9:30pm at Collingwood Library and Museum. A family centered event enjoy Family Yoga with YoKid, Vinyasa Flow, yoga nidra, and kirtan. A $20 suggest minimum donation benefit Give Back Yoga and YoKid.

Free Yoga in the Fresh Air: Round out Yoga Week on June 19, 3:30pm-5:30pm, at Montgomery Park in Old Town Alexandria. Experience a variety of classes with VYW teachers with proceeds benefitting Carpenter’s ShelterKing Street CatsDogs XL Rescue, and Dog World Rescue. This is a Food Drive event focused on your favorite furry animals.
