Videology DC: Sharing the Art of Web Video

Videology DC is a monthly workshop founded by Raymond Schillnger and Justin Gutwein, “two filmmakers united by a common passion for storytelling through a lens and a deep-seated distaste for bad web video”. Their goal is to provide clear and easy tactics for producing high quality web video on a low-cost budget. Hourly workshops will be held once a month at various locations around DC, with each event featuring a guest speaker and focusing on different aspects of web video production.

The inaugural event is titled HDSLR Bootcamp Part 1 + A Guide to Video SEO. Expect a hands-on workshop covering the basics of shooting with DSLR, and tips on how to tweak the SEO for your video including proper tags and labels for YouTube and Vimeo.

Event Hosts:

Raymond Schillnger is the Founder of media | sophe, an extension of work he has performed on an ad-hoc basis since high school: a blend of technical and new media consulting, with an emphasis on leveraging budget-conscious web video and social media.

Justin Gutwein is the Founder of ShineOn Storytelling, creating a wide variety of handcrafted video content including Documentaries, “About Us” videos, simple animations and more. Their video marketing strategy is to engage people with interesting stories that they will watch and share in their social media outlets, giving your company that much more exposure.
