Dancing in the DC Streets

So you think DC can dance? DC Commission Young Artist Grantee Micheline Heal intends to show you just that with her five-part contemporary modern dance performances through the streets of Washington, DC. With a goal to provide more exposure to the thriving local dance community, Heal’s dance company –Mich-Mash Productions– will perform free for unsuspecting audiences in different locations around the city.
“Dance is rapidly increasing in popularity, thanks to TV shows such as Dancing with the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance,” said Heal, “Yet in a city where there are so many extraordinarily talented dancers doing extremely innovative work, dance companies have trouble filling their audiences. This project is an audience engagement effort to get people who are fans of those TV shows into the audiences of dance venues.”
Their planned performance schedule is posted below but be sure to follow @MASHbuzz on Twitter for last-minute updates and alerts.
