DC Veg Fest is Back with Over 75 Exhibitors

There is a good reason why Sticky Fingers was the winner on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars and there is an even bigger reason why they’ll be one of the top sponsors of this year’s D.C. Veg Fest. The vegan eatery will join 18 other food vendors, including The Fojol Brothers food truck, Bread and Brew and Amsterdam Falafelshop at the festival this year, along with more than 75 exhibitors.
In its third year, the D.C. Veg Fest has grown from a grassroots gathering to day-long celebration and exhibition with more than 5,000 participants. This year’s event will feature keynote speakers from the vegan and vegetarian community, including Wendy Rieger, news anchor for NBC4-DC, Colleen Patrick-Goudreau, author of 30-day Vegan Challenge, and cooking demonstrations by Isa Chandra Moskowitz and Brennan Gerald. The event will also host free cholesterol testing and a kid’s activity area.

In addition to free food samples from Tofurky, Gardein, Field Roast, and Soyummi, attendees can look forward to an all-out cupcake eating challenge hosted by Sticky Fingers. Attendees can expect to see some of Sticky Fingers’ classic sweet treats for sample and for sale, including Cowvin Cookies, chocolate mousse cake, oatmeal raisin cookies and peanut butter pie; they’ll also be sampling grilled cheese sandwiches made with Daiya cheese.
The D.C. Veg Fest is Saturday, September 24, 11 a.m. – 6 p.m, at the University Yard at George Washington University (H St. between 20th/21sts., NW). You can find more information online at www.dcvegfest.com or @dcvegfest.
