2011 Woof Walk Fun Run and Community Dog Walk

| 10/14/2011

Leo Carbajal

The dog days may be over, but your four-legged buddy still wants to be out and about! THE POWER OF PETS™ by Mars Petcare & the YMCA of Metropolitan Washington have put together a great event for you and your WHOLE family (because lets face it, your pets are the family you get to choose) to spend the day getting some fresh air, and walking for your health.

Attendees and their owners will be meeting at the Capitol reflecting pool at 10:00 AM for a 2k fun run (or walk) followed by an afternoon of fun activities. There will be doggie & kiddie obstacle courses, arts & crafts, a music and dance party and more. There will also be a Q and A session with a veterinarian from Banfield® Pet Hospital, but tell your canine friends not to worry, the vet is only there to talk!

Walking your dog is a great way to regularly work in exercise to battle obesity, heart disease, and even boredom in your family. Come out and enjoy a free and fun way to increase your physical activity while spending time together outdoors. Your dog(s) will “woof” you for it, and will heart will thank you too!

Those who register in advance get a free t-shirt and doggie bag!
