Attend TEDx PennQuarter 2011 and Reinvent Yourself

| 10/07/2011

Just like Dr. Evil, TED has its own Mini-Me, TEDx. If you hurry, you might still be able to be a part of this brain trust event—TEDx PennQuarter 2011 is back in town. This go round, it will be hosted at the forward thinking Woolly Mammoth Theater.

If you are fascinated by what the future holds, follow trends, and want to know who the big thinkers are and what they’re doing, then you have to keep up with TED. Started 25 years ago, TED, a nonprofit, is an organization “devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading.” It began as an event where visionary people with “world changing ideas” in the areas of technology, entertainment, and design got together to discuss how they could make a difference. Over the years, the scope of topics has broadened, and now the annual TED Conference brings people together, from any discipline, to talk about how they can change the world.

In the spirit of acting locally, the TEDx programs, the “x=independently organized TED event,” were created to reinvent the TED experience for people at the local level. TEDx programs are designed to facilitate dialogue between individuals, their communities, and local organizations by focusing on a theme, concept, or idea. If you want to know who the change-makers are in your community, this is the place to meet them.

Organized by Kesavan Sampanthar, this TEDx PennQuarter program’s theme is: REINVENTINGx. There will be a variety of speakers from many backgrounds, who will share fascinating and inspiring stories about their own experiences reinventing themselves.
