Trust for the National Mall and L’Enfant Society Celebrate at Carmine’s One Year Anniversary

| 10/05/2011

More than 25 million tourists visit the National Mall annually, and that naturally leads to a lot of wear and tear. The last renovation was 30 years ago, so with plenty of help and support the delay in repairs will end soon. Tuesday night, the Trust for the National Mall and L’Enfant Society held a charming successful fundraising event at Carmine’s Italian Restaurant in the Penn Quarter neighborhood to support the rebuilding of our country’s most historic national park.

DC’s finest came out to enjoy an endless beautiful buffet of Italian cuisine, complimentary wine and beer, and the company of an outstanding favorable group of patrons collectively present for a common cause!  Along with celebrating the kickoff event for the National Mall, Carmine’s also celebrated its one-year anniversary in the DC area.

Attendees filled the entire rear of Carmine’s where an array of Italian dishes were displayed throughout the venue. The crowd was dressed to impress — eating, drinking, networking, catching up with friends, and making new ones! My personal favorite part of the night was the arrival of cannoli and tiramisu and set it on the coffee bar… but I just have an unhealthy obsession with Italian desserts and coffee!

L’Enfant Society is already in preparations for the 2012 Ball on the Mall. This black-tie gala is held on the National Mall each year and has raised over $500,000 for the Trust and attracted more than 1,000 of Washington’s best and brightest professionals. The organization is always accepting new members to help raise awareness and funds for an important cause. For membership benefits and information, make sure you visit the L’Enfant Society website.
