Dishcrawl Launches in DC Next Week
Unless you live under a rock, you either have heard of a pub crawl or have been on one. Well, a tastier version of this liquid diversion has just hit DC. It’s called a Dishcrawl, and if you sign up now, you can be a part of the launch on November 8, 2011. If you go, you can eat your way around PennQuarter and get your heart rate going at the same time. You just might make a few new foodie friends along the way too.
So what is a Dishcrawl? It’s the latest food trend to arrive on this coast from the San Francisco Bay area. It’s a unique way for restaurants and chefs to get to know their local foodie community and share their culinary philosophies with their guests. The beauty of the Dishcrawl is that when you are part of Dishcrawl you get to explore different DC food haunts, one neighborhood at a time, and the one-on-one with the people behind each restaurant gives you a more authentic experience with your local food culture.
Think about it. A Dishcrawl is so much better than a progressive dinner: you don’t have to cook anything and you get to take a brisk walk in the fall air between each of the four restaurant stops.
The person behind this food phenomenon is Tracy Lee, Dishcrawl’s Founder, and she says, “We explore everything from the high-end to the hidden gems with a crowd of locals, food lovers and the food curious alike.” The idea is spreading like pancake batter and has already moved into San Francisco, New York, San Jose, the Tri-Valley Area Peninsula, Ottawa, Montreal, and now DC.
