Good by Design 2011 Gives Back to Nonprofits in DC
Since 2008, the nonprofit sector has been hard hit by the downturn in the economy. Luckily, these organizations are the one receiving a helping hand for a change. It’s all part of GOOD by DESIGN 2011, which is being held on Sunday, November 6. This is just one of the many programs that are part of DC Week, a week-long tech and design event we will be covering.
Good by Design is a ten-hour day of pro bono design, marketing and social media work provided by creative professionals in the DC metro area. Nonprofits will benefit from website design services, get help with social media, work with writers to create content and a host of other marketing and interactive services and products.
The forces behind this Charity Design Day are The BOSS Group, a design and staffing agency for creative professional that have been in the area for more than 22 years and The Art Institute of Washington, a private college that provides career training in multi-media and visual arts as well as fashion, design and culinary arts.
The creative volunteers have been selected by The BOSS Group via an invitation-only selection process. They have been assigned to help create newsletters, direct mail, logos, business cards, email templates, set up social media campaigns, banner ads, re-write website content and more.
It’s not too late to volunteer. Just contact Kristen Ferrer at The BOSS Group to go through the selection process.
