| 11/03/2011

DC may not be Silicon Valley, but one way to find out what’s new in technology and social media is by attending DC Week. It begins Friday, November 4 and ends November 11, 2011, and it’s the hottest tech ticket in town.

This annual festival has a full schedule of events, yes, there are parties too, and it gives social gurus, budding and experienced entrepreneurs, techies, and design innovators, a chance to meet and form connections.

If you’re a starving artist and tired of channeling La Bohème, or just want to make it as a writer, you’ll want attend Laura Zam’s  unique training workshop, How to Make a Living As an Artist, on Saturday, November 5.

Zam has been described by the Washington Post as, “smart,” beautiful,” and “funny,” but  her seminar is more than just amusing anecdotes. She offers writers, sculptors, filmmakers, musicians, etc. practical information, and shows them how to stay focused, find financial support, tackle personal setbacks, and put themselves on the right path.

Laura is an accomplished writer, performance artist, and coach who has received awards and grants for her unique programs from the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the Soros Foundation.
