One of my most vivid childhood memories is of marveling at the sleek pages of my fathers National Geographic magazines. Thus, I was beyond excited to learn that Nat Geo is hosting live presentations by leading explorers, scientists, photographers, and performing artists right here in DC, thereby bringing those glossy images to life.

Tickets for their spring 2012 events including concerts, thought-provoking presentations, films, and family events are on sale now.

The next event, Masters of Photography – A 3 Speaker Series, invites us behind the camera where we will learn the stories behind some of the most extraordinary photography in the world.  Running Tuesday, February 7, 2012 – Wednesday, April 4, 2012.

Following, the Masters of Photography is the free event, The Rhythm Road: American Music Abroad. This series will feature jazz, urban, and roots music by top American performers that were selected from around the country to represent American music and culture overseas.  Running Thursday, February 9, 2012 – Thursday, March 8, 2012.

Check out the schedule for a complete listing of events. There’s something for everyone.
