Savor Wine and Chocolate to Benefit the MS Society
Few combinations are as decadently delicious as wine and chocolate, or as good for your heart. If you need to justify indulging in this wicked combination, you can absolve your guilt by attending this year’s Wine & Chocolate Tasting Benefitting the National MS Society.
The tasty event will be held February 12, 2012 from 1:00 to 4:00 at Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro at the Westin Hotel in Reston. Proceeds also go to support the Determined Soles Team participate in the Challenge Walk for the National Capital Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
The team is led by Jacki Varacalli, who struggles daily with MS, and she is the driving force behind this event. She and her team are determined to find a cure for this horrible disease, even if they have to do it one bonbon or wine glass at a time.
Since its founding three years ago, this tasting event’s popularity has grown, and this year’s event is even bigger. The tasting will feature incredible chocolates generously provided by local chocolatier, MC2 Confections, which will be paired with two wines from five Virginia wineries. The participating wineries include Loudoun Valley, Fabbioli, Tarara, Notaviva, and 8 Chains North.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day romance, winery reps and MC2 Confection’s staff will be on hand to sell wine and boxed chocolates so you can share the tasty treats with that special someone in your life. During the tasting, there will be plenty of chocolate to satisfy event the most confirmed chocoholics. In addition to the bonbons, there will be two endless chocolate fountains.
A silent auction will be held which includes valuable food and wine gifts, dinners, collectibles, and more. Tickets for the event are $15 per person, and 100 percent of the money from ticket sales goes directly to the charity so you can be sure your soul is in the right place when you support Determined Soles.
