Washington Wine Academy 1K BEER Walk
Everyone knows that drinking and driving is not a good idea, but drinking and walking? File that under “brilliant ideas.”
The Washington Wine Academy in collaboration with the Crystal City Business Improvement District is launching their inaugural 1K Beer Walk through the shops of Crystal City. Counter the carbs you consume as you walk! But don’t break into a sweat just yet, that’s just over half a mile, and with a cool brew in hand, it’ll be a breeze.
Perhaps you’ve been to one of their super popular wine walks? This is just like that, only a bit more hoppy. On January 20th and 21st the races will begin every 30 minutes from 2 pm – 5:30 pm. Groups and teams are encouraged to join in on the fun.
Domestic and international beers will be presented for $35/person. Tickets also include appetizers, breads and cheeses. Some of the featured beers include Boston favorites Sam Adams and Harpoon, Spatan from Bavaria and Duvel Ommegang, a strong Belgian golden ale (and one of my personal faves).
All participants get a race t-shirt, a souvenir beer glass, a race bib and a little bit tipsy.
