Smokey Robinson to Perform at The Kennedy Center
Get your credit cards ready Motown music lovers, you have a chance to see a legend perform live. This singer-song writer’s music has been the soundtrack to our lives, and he really is the Motown sound.
So who is this titan of music? None other than the great Smokey Robinson. He will be appearing on Saturday, March 3, as part of the Duke Ellington School of the Arts’ Performance Series of Legends concert at The Kennedy Center.

One of my most vivid childhood memories is of marveling at the sleek pages of my fathers National Geographic magazines. Thus, I was beyond excited to learn that Nat Geo is hosting live presentations by leading explorers, scientists, photographers, and performing artists right here in DC, thereby bringing those glossy images to life.

Turning Back the Clock for New Years Eve in DC
Being the über nostalgic retro-fiend that I am, I was thrilled to discover that turning back the clock (a lot!) seems to be the pervasive theme in DC this NYE. The doors officially opened at The Hamilton this evening, DC’s newest restaurant offering Washingtonians a place to ‘eat drink listen’ 24 hours a day, 364 days a year (closed on Christmas Day). A brave offering, the location sprawls over 37,000 sq feet with five bars, six dining areas, an upstairs loft for private events, and a live music venue that can seat 260 with 100 additional bar stools — that grabbed our attention!

The National Chamber Ensemble Celebrates the Holidays with Concert
In the true spirit of the holidays the National Chamber Ensemble presents “Celebrating the Holidays,” featuring soprano Nancy Peery Marriott and guest violinists Andrew Lu and Albert Shyu. Singing traditional holiday songs, the NCE will spread the cheer as the resident ensemble of the Spectrum Theatre at Artisphere. Following what’s bound to be a memorable performance, audience members are invited to join ensemble performers at a wine and cheese reception rounding out a wonderful evening.

Oktoberfest Beer Festival in Northern Virginia
