The Broke Ass Book Tour at Acre 121
Come out to Acre 121, Columbia Heights’ Low country BBQ and live music bar for a night of enjoying life “not as a rich person, but as a real person” with Broke-Ass Stuart. Broke-Ass Stuart is a SF writer with a penchant for the parsimonious pleasures in life, who’s acquired an impressive underground following of like-minded broke and beautiful youth. He’s also the star of the aptly named IFC TV show “Young, Broke & Beautiful.”
WGirls DC Go Bananas for DC Farm to School Network
After epic rains, flash floods, and endless days of rubber boots, WGirls DC got lucky—the sun came out just in time for their Happy Hour—Shots and Seeds. The evening included drinks specials, the opportunity to support a good cause, a planting of seedlings, and killer music videos. A crowd of Petworth locals, Blue Banana regulars, music fans, volunteers, and supporters of the DC Farm to School Network, filled the bar area.

Beer Dinner & Discussion
Enough of the wine dinners already, sometimes you just wanna talk beer. Head on over to BlackFinn on July 12th for their Tour of Americas event and get your fill of beer from regions all over America including Oregon, Charlottesville, Chicago and Hawaii. Your four-course dinner will be prepared with four paired beers in mind leaving you well-fed and watered by eves end!
Summer Block Party by Live Green at Local 16
To celebrate their third birthday Live Green is throwing a street bash you don’t wanna miss. Local band House of Soul will provide live entertainment with a fusion of dance, jazz, R&B, and underground DJ vibes while Java Green and Cafe Green dish up appetizers. There’ll be drink specials and raffle/silent auction items such as Zipcar membership, dinner at Local 16, gift cards, massages, and more. If you’re sore from all that dancing Well Being Massage will be onsite offering complimentary massages – now that’s a party covering all of one’s needs! Join WEAVE at Dirty Martini and Capital City Ball
Women Empowered Against Violence (WEAVE) works within the Washington DC community to help eliminate intimate partner abuse and other forms of gender-based violence through their empowering, innovative and holistic services. To build awareness and raise funds for their cause, WEAVE hosts many small events throughout the year with an annual gala every fall. More to follow on the gala indeed, but here are some upcoming events you can attend to learn more about WEAVE, network with others who share your interest, and of course – have some fun!
