L’Enfant Society Ball on the Mall Kick-Off
The annual Ball on the Mall is coming up — May 5th will be upon us before we know it! But you don’t have to wait until then to get in on the fun. On March 26th, the L’Enfant Society will host the Ball on the Mall Kick-Off at The Federalist at The Madison Hotel from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
The Kick-Off is complimentary for L’Enfant Society members with a $25 fee for non-members. The Ball on the Mall is not only an opportunity to don your favorite ball gown or black tie getup, it also raises awareness and funds for efforts to preserve the National Mall, the ground of some of America greatest moments in history.
USA for UNHCR #BlueKey Tweetup
USA for UNHCR is hosting their second annual #BlueKey tweetup at Ceiba Restaurant to benefit Refugees worldwide. The Blue Key campaign’s goal is to get a minimum of 6,000 people in the US to order their own Blue Keys by December 31, 2011. You can help them reach this goal and show your support by attending the tweetup and helping to spread awareness. The BlueKey symbol was selected to depict the idea of the safe and secure home that the UN Refugee Agency strives to achieve for the 43.7 million refugees that find themselves displaced from their homes due to war, conflict, or prosecution.
DREAM Life Domestic Violence Awareness Hour
Domestic Violence is a serious, but often hidden issue facing people of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds. This Thursday, October 13th from 6 to 8 PM “Hearts Beat…Love Doesn’t,”a campaign whose mission is to raise domestic violence awareness, will be hosting an Awareness Hour at Sova Espresso & Wine in DC.
The Pink Agenda Arrives in DC: Official Launch Event
The Pink Agenda arrives in DC with their official launch event Thursday, September 15th on the Terrace at Rivers Restaurant at The Watergate. Guest will be treated to an open bar, passed hors d’oeuvres, and raffle and silent auction items including Vida gym memberships and collection of Brooks Brothers accessories for women. In true DC style the event will be followed by an after party at George from 10:00 PM.
DC PR Flacks Meetup to Celebrate Second Anniversary
Founded by Margie Newman in July 2009, today actually marks the Anniversary of the very first official meetup for DC PR Flacks! This organically-grown meetup has gathered over 600 members and attracts over 60 of the more social souls at regular monthly Happy Hour events. With Vocus as a sponsor the first 40 at any event grab a drink for free — what better reason to network and show support for industry peers?!
Young Benefactors Group Presents “Samba and Sangria”
On Wednesday, June 22nd the Young Benefactors Group Presents: “Samba and Sangria”, a Latin-themed philanthropic social. Expect “lavish Latin rhythms, libations and lite Latin fare” complimentary of your $25 admission with all of the proceeds donated to the Institute for Responsible Citizenship, a Washington DC based non-profit organization dedicated to advancing high achieving African-American college students from across the country. Origem, a DC based Brazilian jazz group, will perform Brazilian music styles samba, bossa nova, maracatu, forro and more. Knock back a few sangrias and swing those hips!
