how to play christmas songs on piano with letters Schools like CSULB and Cal State Northridge and Cal State Fullerton are known for good music programs. With lessons and lots of practice plus good sight reading skills as well as taking music theory at the community college level, your daughter should be able to apply to any of the schools you mention. It’s always a good idea to check the websites of the schools she would most want to go to, in order to see what their policies are around transfer students. There’s also a website called Transferology. com where students can find out what classes will/won’t transfer at many schools. We have been told by many people that having a trial lesson with a potential teacher is a very important part of choosing the right music program. My daughter is a soprano who spent last summer at Tanglewood and came home very determined to pursue vocal performance. On three different occasions we happened to be traveling to a city with a college she is very interested in but in all three cases I emailed the faculty to request a trial lesson and none of them answered. The college websites all stated that was how to set up a trial lesson but the faculty does not answer those emails. Any suggestions ?Is this a common problem?Look at the application and audition requirements at schools you think you might want to attend. Talk with your current teacher to get their input on what you can do to be ready for auditions next year.

Tap down on the surface with your little finger. Next, tap down on the surface with the finger next your little finger. Repeat the tapping of your little finger and the finger next to it. Keep tapping as fast as possible. Now, try doing the same exercise with your thumb and index fingers. What did you find? You will notice that your last two fingers are a little bit uncoordinated. Trying doing the same exercise on your non preferred hand. You will notice it is even harder to do. If you keep performing these finger tapping exercises everyday, you will start to develop lightning fast finger movement. Learning how to play piano takes like of time and practise. Work on improving your finger speed by following the exercise I just mentioned.

I am a sophomore in high school and am very interested in majoring in either piano pedagogy or piano performance. I’ve been playing piano for over 10 years, have participated in local, state, and national competitions since I was 12, gone to two summer piano camps, and am taking AP Music Theory this year. So, I think I have a pretty good chance of getting into at least some college piano program. But I also love to sing, especially in choir. I did choir in middle school, but I haven’t had time for it since. My question is if colleges offer a way for non voice majors to still sing in choir?I would love to do some voice in college.
